The Artwork

I’ve said it to everyone we’ve worked with over the last two years. Tom and I could make you a damn good batch of our Mum’s famous chocolate brownies, but neither of us have a drop of creativity in our bones. Parent-Teacher meetings with our Art teachers were always met with “well she’s trying her best” from the kind ones and “Picasso would roll in his grave” from those who didn’t understand the concept constructive criticism.

We knew that we wanted Manatii to be fun and colourful and to encompass all of the best bits of The Caribbean, but we didn’t know how to bring it to life.

I’d seen oil painter Kitty Lintin and her artwork over Instagram and after some deliberation I got in touch to tell her about our project and see if she’d be open to collaborating on something bespoke. Kitty was fabulous and produced many a presentation for us with varying colour palettes, collage options, Caribbean images etc. Five months later, Kitty finished Manatii’s bespoke piece of artwork and it was beyond all of our expectations. It now hangs proudly in my kitchen so I can stare at it all day long and we couldn’t love it more.

I’m now eyeing up her other pieces that I can hang elsewhere in my flat.

Love from,
